Advantage Technologies message to clients affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.
In these unprecedented times, I want you to know that all of us at Advantage are committed to doing all we can to help you and your team. I understand the strain this is putting on your business. Many of our clients are operating remotely, in partial shutdown, or entirely shut down except for emergencies. Advantage Tech is a small business too, facing many of the same challenges right now. My team and I have come up with some ways to get creative with some costs while keeping the critical core services that you need.
First – We will be here. I know there have been a lot of questions as to whether we are going to be able to continue support, perform service, etc. Be assured, we have contingency plans in place and the Department of Homeland Security has designated IT Management as a “Critical Infrastructure Sector” – so we have the legal authority to continue our business operations in order to keep your IT systems secured, accessible, and backed up. We will be here for you and your team.
Second – We want to help defer or eliminate costs related to non-vital items. Specifically, we want to extend additional time to pay for items that are in our control. Where we can help, we want to. We are implementing the following changes for billing for clients who are partially shutdown or dealing in an “emergency only” status:
Item Flexible billing options available:
- Onsite Service Calls: On request, we will defer billing for onsite service calls until June 1, 2020.
- Remote Service Calls: On request, we will defer billing for remote service calls until June 1, 2020.
- After Hours Emergencies: On request, we will defer billing for after-hours emergency calls until June 1, 2020.
I have an ask here – please don’t defer these charges unless your business is partially or entirely shut down. This will obviously put a strain on our business cash flow, and we want to do all we can to help assist as many clients as possible. Additionally, these deferrals are for urgent service only, we will not be deferring services scheduled for convenience. Please partner with us and be judicious as we all work together to get through this challenging time.
Please note – we are unable to defer any equipment charges as we incur those charges immediately.
Third – Your IT system is critical, and we will not fail in protecting it. Whether you are operating normally, remotely, partial shutdown, or emergencies only, we understand that it is critical that your system still be secured, accessible, and backed up per HIPAA / HITECH and other regulatory requirements. We use a variety of tools from various companies to do this. Firewalls, WiFi, anti-virus, backups, remote access, updates, etc. These services comprise the standard of care for IT management and are not optional. Your liability insurance (and ours), as well as regulations such as HIPAA, require that these systems be functioning to protect the data and secure your network. Additionally, with the rapidly evolving challenges surrounding COVID-19, we are seeing a large spike in cyberattacks. We are determined to not allow this to affect you. None of us want a difficult situation made worse by a data breach or other cyber security incident. We are continuing to pay for all of these subscriptions, so there is NO lapse in the defense of your network. Because of this, we have no ability to defer or “shut off” the basic Advantage 360 plan. I appreciate your understanding in this.
I want to reiterate, on behalf of my entire team, our commitment to keeping your IT system safe, secure, and stable during this decidedly unstable time. We are here for you today and in the future. Thank you for putting your trust in us and for being our client.
I appreciate you and wish you the very best as we navigate this together.
